WhatsApp rolls out voice calling feature for Android

Facebook owned messaging service Whatsapp has finally rolled out the most anticipated feature of voice calling, so now you can also ring your Whatsapp friends along with texting and video sharing.
By now, Android-based smartphones will be able to get this update prior than others and the rumors regarding the roll-out of this feature on Android Lollipop only were baseless as it works with KitKat version as well.
To avail this service, users have to upgrade their Whatsapp application to the version 2.11.531, however this service can also be used on its previous version 2.11.528, though, it is recommended by the company to upgrade to latest version from its official website.
After updating the app, the user will be required to ask any friend (who already has this latest feature) to call you on your WhatsApp. As soon as your friend will call you, a new tab ‘Calls’ will be added to your app to make calls anytime and anywhere with WhatsApp.
Although, if you don’t have such friend, that would be really irritating for you but it seems like the company is deliberately doing so to limit the number of users of this feature or this feature may require any maintenance yet.
The voice calling feature of WhatsApp can trouble ‘Viber’ which is a very popular messenger for providing call services to its users.
WhatsApp services are also free in Pakistan as the company waved off its fees of $1 per year in developing countries a month ago, so it can be anticipated that the slice of calling feature will increase WhatsApp users from 700 million to a much bigger number in near future.
If you have experienced this calling feature of WhatsApp, don’t forget to share your remarks in the comment section below.
